22-year-old man killed in overnight shooting in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police said the victim of an overnight shooting on 15th Avenue has died.

Police said the 22-year-old victim was shot in the 100 block of 15th Avenue prior to 2:30 a.m. Monday morning.

He was alive when police found him at the scene and was rushed to a local hospital, where he expired from his injuries.

Authorities have not released suspect information or announced any arrests in the investigation.

The name of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
