Two missing children found safe in wooded area in Rankin County

PEARL, Miss. (WJTV) – Two missing children were found safe in Rankin County after an overnight search in a wooded area.

Pearl Police Chief Nick McLendon said the two children, ages 8 and 10, were reported missing after becoming lost in a dense woodland.

After an overnight search that involved multiple law enforcement agencies, McLendon said the children were located safe within the woods.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to the officers, emergency personnel, and the many volunteers who assisted in the search efforts. Their dedication and teamwork were instrumental in reuniting these children with their family,” the police chief said. “This successful outcome is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when law enforcement and the community come together with a shared purpose: protecting our most vulnerable.”
