Maryland State Police in search of deadly hit-and-run crash suspect

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (DC News Now) — The Maryland State Police is in search of the person responsible for a deadly hit-and-run crash in Prince George’s County on Saturday.

Police say officers responded to reports of a pedestrian-involved crash at 6:20 a.m. near Wood Branch Court on the Eastbound Maryland Route 202.

There, the pedestrian, identified as Leroy Wedge, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An initial investigation determined that Wedge was trying to cross when he was struck by a vehicle suspected to be a 2012-2014 GMC Terrain or Chevrolet Equinox that fled the scene.

The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack at 301-345-3101.
