The Bowie Police Department (BPD) said the crash happened at around 7:30 p.m. A woman was driving an SUV when, for unknown reasons, she crashed into the Governor’s Green Apartment building, located at 16501 Governor Bridge Road.
The woman was rescued from her car and was still conscious.
According to BPD, the woman was being treated at the scene for her injuries.
Crews with the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department were investigating the structural damage to the building.
Breana Sheffield, who witnessed the crash, said that it was “crazy” to see.
“Honestly, not how I expected my Friday night to turn out. But fortunately, everyone is safe, and that’s probably the best outcome at this moment, but I would hate to have paid rent and had this happen to my house,” Sheffield said.
