Beloit man, 18, charged in connection to Janesville stabbing
JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTVO) — An 18-year-old man from Beloit has been charged in a stabbing that happened Saturday afternoon in Janesville.

According to the Janesville Police Department, officers were called to Dodge Street around 5:34 p.m. for a report of a man armed with a knife.

At the scene, they saw Richard Mercadel, 18, running south on River Street.

Mercadel was taken into custody and a male victim was located.

Police said both Mercadel and the victim were taken to a local hospital for treatment, although the extent of their injuries were not detailed.

Mercadel was later charged with Reckless Injury and Disorderly Conduct, and booked into the Rock County Jail.
