The Texas Department of Transportation said the south Austin bridge will close at 8 p.m. Friday and remain closed until 6 a.m. on Monday as crews work to set panels and install new lighting in the area.
There will be reductions on the main lanes of I-35, north and southbound, between State Highway 71/Ben White Boulevard and Slaughter Lane during the nighttime work. TxDOT said drivers will see lane reductions on the frontage roads in the area, as well.
Law enforcement will be in the area to assist with traffic. Drivers should be on the lookout for workers and construction trucks.
