At around 4 a.m. on Aug. 2, around 30 firefighters responded to a fire at an abandoned building located at 1865 W and North Temple. The building was formerly the Dream Inn hotel.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire coming from the building. Fire personnel then pulled three to four people from the structure, according to Cpt. Chad Jepperson, Salt Lake City Fire.
No injuries occurred in the incident, Jepperson said. It reportedly took firefighters around an hour to extinguish the flames.
The fire is under investigation at this time. The cause is currently unknown.
Fire officials urge the public to report any activity happening in abandoned buildings. You can do so by calling the Salt Lake City Police non-emergency line at 801-799-3000 or through the mySLC app.
