Rialto woman arrested in mail theft investigation; two suspects still at large

A 26-year-old Rialto woman has been arrested in connection with a mail theft case in Lytle Creek, and authorities are continuing to search for two additional suspects, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

On the evening of July 27, 2025, three individuals, including Destiny Coles and two unidentified men, allegedly broke into several locked mailboxes at the Lytle Creek Post Office on the 300 block of Valley Vista Drive and stole packages and mail. A witness captured a photo of the suspects’ vehicle, which investigators later identified as a white 2016 Volkswagen Jetta registered to Coles.

Detectives from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station located the vehicle on July 30 and conducted a traffic stop in Rialto. During the stop, Coles was arrested and found to be in possession of more than 100 pieces of stolen mail, along with identity theft materials and a cloned United States Postal Service master key. Authorities said the stolen mail originated from several cities across San Bernardino County, including Lytle Creek, Fontana, Rialto, San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga, Colton, and Highland.

Coles was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and is being held without bail.
