Tony Chowdhury leads the Fusion Gym project, which sits next to the Boardwalk. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority still needs to give their final okay.
The site adds a twist to AC’s summer lineup. Gone are the days when visitors just came to bet: now they can sweat it out under the sun, then cool off with a drink.
“Patrons soon will be able to lift weights and hoist drinks at the city’s newest attraction that has nothing to do with gambling,” reported The Press of Atlantic City.
Picture this: workout gear meets cocktail bars in one spot. Two pop-up drink stations will serve thirsty gym-goers and passersby alike.
The spot couldn’t be better: right between two big hotels on the north Boardwalk. Guests can walk straight from their rooms to work out or grab a bite.
This fresh take on beachside fun fits what AC wants: different things for different folks. Not everyone comes to play cards; some want to pump iron by the ocean.
The doors should open bit by bit starting next week, if the permits come through. You’ll get to try some parts while workers put the finishing touches on others.
