On Friday, McMenamins started offering new 12-ounced canned beverages — titled Jam Session and Trippy Tiger.
The sugar-free, citrus-flavored Jam Session includes two milligrams of THC and 10 milligrams of CBD. The Trippy Tiger also includes 10 milligrams of CBD, with a higher dosage of five milligrams and featuring a blend of tropical fruit like pineapple, passionfruit and guava.
The seltzers, from McMenamins’ brewery and winery teams, are a part of a nine-day-long celebration of The Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia. The late musician was born on Aug. 1, 1942, and died 30 years ago on Aug. 9.
The chain is honoring Garcia’s legacy with “The Days Between,” which showcases the new beverages along with other events and specials. This includes the ranch-covered Further Fries, Sloppy Jerry and Days Between IPA. Every location is offering the food and drink specials, but the THC seltzers are only available for Oregon customers.
Just last summer, the Portland Pickles started selling THC seltzers at games.
Although the state bans public marijuana consumption, the team said regulators allow certain products that are derived from hemp. Hemp is a cannabis plant with less than 0.3% of THC.
