Lt. Gov. Stratton hears concerns from residents in Rockford ahead of Senate bid

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton has been traveling around the state to listen to residents’ concerns, including Rockford.

Stratton listened to residents’ issues at 27 Luna Saturday evening.

The lieutenant governor plans to run for Dick Durbin’s vacated Senate seat in the upcoming election cycle.

She believes hearing Illinoisans’ concerns helps her become a well-rounded candidate.

“As I seek to head to Washington, D.C., to be the next United States Senator for Illinois, I want to do so by taking the voices of the people that I represent with me,” Stratton explained. So, this is an opportunity to have a very real conversation about the issues that matter most to them, the things that they care about.”

“What I hear is that people are looking for a fighter, and I want to bring that fight, and I want to do it, informed by these conversations,” Stratton continued.

Stratton plans to visit Naperville, Decatur and Metro East areas next.
