Kick off August with the Panthers Fan Fest, LoSo Block Party and more this weekend in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — August is here, and the Queen City is welcoming it with a packed weekend of sports action, live entertainment, and family-friendly events.

Whether you’re a Panthers superfan, a music lover, an art enthusiast, or just looking for something to do with the kids, there’s something going on for everyone.

Panthers Fan Fest returns to Bank of America Stadium

Get ready for a night of football and fireworks as Fan Fest comes back to Charlotte. This event begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, with a full Panthers practice under the stadium lights.

Fans will get to watch their favorite players warm up and run drills, followed by autograph sessions and a fireworks and laser show.

  • Kids Zone: bubbles, coloring wall, and activities
  • Freebies: First 5,000 fans get a roster flip card
  • Autographs: Players will sign at the wall after practice
  • Fireworks: Starts right after practice

Fan Fest returns to Charlotte after being held in Clemson last year.

LoSo Block Party at Queen Park Social

South End’s getting shut down for one of the biggest block parties of the year. The LoSo Block Party is bringing over 40 local vendors, live music, DJs, giveaways, and fun for all ages, including kids and pups! The event runs from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2.

  • Free admission
  • Dog and kid zones, axe throwing, and interactive experiences
  • Live stage hosted by Kiss Radio

Cook Out Monster Truck Bash

The Monster Truck Bash returns to The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway with 2,000-horsepower machines flying through the air. Kids’ tickets are just $10.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with the event starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.

NoDa Bizarre All Arts Festival

The heart of Charlotte’s artsy NoDa neighborhood will be beating strong at the Johnston YMCA lawn. The event runs from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2. The NoDa Bizarre features:

  • 75+ local vendors
  • Live performances from artists like Maggie Lowe and Ellie Morgan
  • Interactive art and youth artists showcasing their work

AJR: Somewhere in the Sky Tour

AJR is coming to the PNC Music Pavilion for an outdoor concert that promises big energy and catchy tunes. The event starts at 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.

Charlotte Knights vs. Rochester Red Wings

Catch the Charlotte Knights at Truist Field, with some extra fan perks. The event begins on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 6:05 p.m.

  • Pre-game catch on the field
  • VS. Cancer Night supporting pediatric brain tumor research
  • Fireworks show after the game

Charlotte FC vs. Guadalajara

Head back on Sunday to Bank of America Stadium to catch Charlotte FC in a Leagues Cup match against Chivas Guadalajara. The match starts at 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3.
