Alexandria police officer served summons for reckless driving during chase with stolen car

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said on Friday that one of its officers was served a summons for reckless driving for an incident that happened on June 14 at around 10 a.m. There, they were actively chasing a stolen car when they crashed into a different car at the Franklin and South Patrick streets intersection.

The officer and the driver had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.

The officer, identified as Damon Frazier, is still on active duty pending the results of an administrative review.

“The Alexandria Police Department takes officer conduct and accountability seriously. All officers are required to complete the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) training, a specialized program designed to ensure safe and responsible driving practices during emergency and pursuit situations,” APD said in a statement. “The APD remains committed to transparency, public safety, and maintaining the trust of our community.”
