WEST HAVEN, Utah (ABC4) — Walmart is coming to West Haven, becoming the first grocer in the city and bringing in around 300 new jobs, the city in a press release.

West Haven’s new Walmart Supercenter will be 176,000 square feet — located in the 4200 block of S Midland Drive, south of 4000 S. The announcement follows another new store along the Wasatch Front in Eagle Mountain, which is scheduled to open later this summer.

The new builds are a part of Walmart’s expansion of over 150 stores nationally over the next several years.

“Being close to other municipalities, and with convenience in travel distance, this store will be a very needed asset to our city as well as others. This will be West Haven’s first grocery store for our almost 26,000 residents and will add needed amenities through sales tax to our city,” said West Haven Mayor Rob Vanderwood. “We are looking forward to the groundbreaking celebration soon and having it open to the public within a year!”

The store, which is scheduled to open within a year, will bring around 300 new jobs to West Haven — hourly and salaried positions alike. These positions include benefits like tuition-free college, flexible scheduling, medical coverage, and paid time off.

The new Walmart will boast amenities including a pharmacy with a drive-through, vision center, mother’s room, auto center, full-service fuel station with convenience store, and options for pickup and delivery, according to the release.

Construction is set to begin late summer/early fall. The grand opening is expected in fall 2026.
