Leon Boutte, 20, and Jeremiah Robertson, 24, both of Lafayette, are each charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Boutte is charged with possession of a firearm in the presence of drugs.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said undercover detectives arranged to buy one ounce of heroin from Boutte for $1,200.
“Officers descended upon Boutte and the driver, identified as Jeremiah Robertson, and detained them without incident” at the agreed-upon meeting place, Guidroz said.
Boutte was also found to have a 9mm gun in his waistband, officials said.
Bond details for Boutte and Robertson were not released.
