(KRON) — A man faces an attempted murder charge following an investigation into a shooting under the Maxwell Bridge in Napa last week, according to police.

On July 24, the Napa Police Department responded around 9 p.m. to the Maxwell Bridge, located at 900 West Imola Avenue, on the report of a shooting. Officers searching the area found a 23-year-old man suffering from gunshot injuries in the parking lot of CVS located at 291 South Coombs Street.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Detectives identified the shooting suspect as Jaime Lisandro Lopez-Barajas during the investigation. On Wednesday, Lopez-Barajas was found by detectives in the 600 block of South Jefferson Street. After a brief foot chase, according to authorities, he was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.

Lopez-Barajas faces felony charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Anyone with information related to the shooting investigation is asked to contact Detective Richard Scannell at rscannell@cityofnapa.org.
