Spider-Man Star Tom Holland Breaks Silence on James Bond Rumors While Making a Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich With Gordan Ramsay

Spider-Man star Tom Holland has broken his silence on the ongoing James Bond rumors, issuing a coy response to celebrity chef Gordan Ramsay while making a spicy fried chicken sandwich.

In a video with celebrity chef Gordan Ramsay in which the pair join forces to cook and promote Bero, Holland’s premium non-alcoholic beer, Ramsay slipped in a cheeky question about James Bond: “Ever thought about using the word James with future movies going forward?”

Here was Holland’s coy response, issued with a smirk: “Listen, there’s speculation at the minute. We’ll keep it to a minimum for now,” Holland said.

“You think?!” Ramsay interjected, before Holland added: “We’ll get there one day.”

Ramsay followed up to ask Holland how he’d feel if he were to play 007. “Every young British actor, it’s the pinnacle of working in our industry,” Holland replied. “I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive. I could never have dreamed to have the career that I’ve had.”

So, does all this sound like the 29-year-old Tom Holland is the next James Bond? It sounds to me like he’s right up there as a top candidate.

Certainly things are ramping up on Bond after Amazon assumed direct control of the franchise. Following confirmation that Dune director Denis Villeneuve will helm the next Bond film, we have confirmation that Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight will pen the script.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 on Friday, Knight said: “I’m hoping that being a Bond fan for so many years, that will sort of be imbued into me and I’ll be able to produce something that’s the same but different and better and stronger and bolder.”

Knight was, perhaps inevitably, asked if he knows who the next Bond will be. Here’s a similarly coy response: “Very, very good question and one I can’t give you the answer to.”

If Holland is the next Bond, he has a number of high profile movies to finish before becoming a spy. He’s got 2026’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day to film, as well as Christopher Nolan’s next epic, The Odyssey. Both movies are due out July 2026. According to Variety, the next James Bond is targeting a 2028 release window.

This week, Kingsman star Taron Egerton ruled himself out of the 007 role, insisting he wasn’t a good fit. “There’s so many cool, younger actors who would be great for it,” the 35-year-old said. “I think it would be wasted on me, probably.”
