Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s First Teaser Shows 8 Seconds of the Suit Up Close and Nothing Else

Sony has kicked off the hype for next year’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day with an extremely brief teaser that shows just eight seconds of the suit up close.

The clip, below, is brief and vague, but has already sparked excited speculation about the nature of the suit and what it might mean for the film.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is due out July 31, 2026, with Sony teasing: “Something brand new is coming…”

The release of this teaser comes amid set leaks that show an armored truck that appears to confirm an established Spider-Man villain will appear in Brand New Day.

Warning! Potential spoilers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day follow:

The truck in question displays a red demon mark, which may relate to Mister Negative’s Inner Demons group. Mister Negative, who players of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games will be familiar with, debuted in 2008’s Amazing Spider-Man #546 as the literal dark side of philanthropist Martin Li. While the benevolent Li runs a homeless shelter, his alter ego is a crime lord who controls the Inner Demons, one of the most powerful gangs in New York City. There’s all sorts of speculation about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and now filming has kicked off that will surely continue. But here’s what we know for sure: Tom Holland will reprise his role as Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon also in the movie.

Newcomers include Stranger Things actor Sadie Sink and Jon Bernthal, who will reprise his role as The Punisher. Marvel itself hasn’t revealed plot details, but it seems likely Brand New Day will be set before Avengers: Doomsday, which comes out late 2026.

One Spider-Man character we won’t see in Brand New Day is Miles Morales. Earlier this month, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige said Sony had told Marvel not to introduce a live-action Miles Morales into the MCU, and as a result, Marvel’s own plans for the character were currently “nowhere.”

“We’ve been told to stay away,” Feige continued, suggesting this request will sit in place at least through the conclusion of Sony’s Spider-Verse trilogy. The delayed final part of that — Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse — is currently set to release on June 25, 2027.

With Holland beginning a second trilogy of Spider-Man movies and having previously suggested he wouldn’t want to play the character forever, fans had speculated about the introduction of Miles Morales, with Peter Parker acting as a mentor, ahead of him potentially passing the Spidey baton over.
