(KRON) — Four people were arrested in connection with multiple organized retail thefts at Safeway grocery stores in Santa Rosa on Wednesday evening, which resulted in several thousands of dollars in stolen meat.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said its Henry-1 (H1) helicopter assisted in “locating, tracking, and directing Santa Rosa police officers to a group of suspects that had drove to Santa Rosa from Oakland.”

The three Safeway locations targeted were the stores on Yulupa Avenue, Calistoga Road and 4th Street. Deputies said one suspect was seen leaving Safeway while the three other suspects waited in the car.

“SCSO Henry-1 located the vehicle in the parking lot of the third location the suspects stole from,” said the sheriff’s office. “They maintained a visual on the car and provided our officers with fast and accurate details of their movement and location.”

Bail has been increased for each suspect, said SCSO. It is not clear what charges they face.

“If you intend to come to our region with the sole intention to steal, then be prepared that there are very likely eyes watching you from above,” said the sheriff’s office in a social media post.
