As Dunn approaches his 40th season in a head coaching role, he is not slowing down.
“I still get those butterflies before fall practice starts and Thursday night before a game, I don’t sleep well, I don’t sleep well after a game on Friday night still,” Dunn said. “You think maybe after 40 years you’d get a little bit used to that but I guess if I get used to it that’s when it’s time to get out. I still enjoy every moment and still enjoy the coaches and the kids.”
And neither are his aspirations, with hopes of leading North DeSoto to a state championship this 2025 season.
“I’m looking forward to another opportunity, it’d be a fun deal to finish it out on that Superdome floor, that’s where every coach in Louisiana wants to be and fortunately I’ve been there a few times and would like to go again,” Dunn said.
The 40th season officially kicks off for Dunn and the Griffins on September 5, as they travel to Union Parrish.
