CHP responded to a crash in the area of Fairmead Boulevard, south of Gordon Street, on July 27 at around 8:40 p.m.
Preliminary investigation determined a man in his 60s, from Fowler, was driving a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle southbound on Fairmead Boulevard. At the same time, a woman from Chowchilla was driving a 2008 GMC Yukon, ahead of the motorcyclist.
CHP says the GMC began to make a left turn towards a private driveway when the motorcyclist attempted to pass the GMC on its left side, colliding with the vehicle, and resulting in the motorcycle being ejected.
CHP reports the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, but suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the GMC and her two children, ages 10 years and eight months, were not injured.
The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, CHP reports. His identity has not been released.
