Man accused of threatening, spitting on officer during Barren County traffic stop

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) — A man was arrested for more than a dozen charges—including assaulting an officer—following a Wednesday traffic stop in Barren County.

The Glasgow Police Department said Officer Micah Janes conducted the stop along East Cherry Street on Wednesday, July 30, after noticing Michael House driving with a suspended license.

Authorities reportedly found meth and a loaded syringe in House’s pants pocket. In addition, according to law enforcement, the Munfordville man “resisted arrest, spitting on one officer and making threats to ‘kill you.'”

Officials said House was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:

  • Driving on a DUI-suspended license (first offense)
  • Failure to or improper signal
  • Failure of the owner to maintain insurance (first offense)
  • Failure to produce an insurance card
  • No registration receipt
  • Resisting arrest
  • Third-degree assault against a peace officer with bodily fluid
  • Third-degree assault against a police or probation officer
  • First-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth, first offense)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Third-degree terroristic threatening
  • First-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer
  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (second offense)

According to the Barren County Detention Center, the 45-year-old is being held on a $25,000 bond ahead of his court date on Monday, Aug. 4.

No additional details were released about this incident.
