“Fact-Checking Health Information: Tools You Can Use” is a series of information sessions led by LSUHS librarians visiting area SML branches. Sessions will occur every month through April 2026, all of which are free and open to the public.
“Understanding healthcare information can be confusing and overwhelming,” a press release stated. “‘Fact-Checking Health Information: Tools You Can Use’ will provide essential discussions on the importance of fact-checking health information to empower attendees to make informed decisions about their health.
“The sessions will also provide practical tools, tips, and techniques to find reliable information on health-related topics such as medications and symptoms. Participants will learn to use tools such as the NIH Know the Science website, how to determine real information from fake information, and about the trusted resources for health information provided by Shreve Memorial Library.”
