BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — Air and ground crews are responding to a new fire start in Box Elder County.
According to Utah Fire Info, a new fire start is “growing rapidly” in Box Elder County. The Little Pole Fire is already burning at an estimated 100 acres. It is also threatening one structure.
As of July 31, 2025, the Little Pole Fire is one of 695 fires that have started in Utah this year. Those fires have burned over 126,747 acres, prompting multiple evacuations. Governor Cox has declared a 30-day state of emergency, allowing more resources to be used to protect and fight wildfires across the state.
Both ground and air resources are responding to the fire. Crews have not identified what started the fire but have said they will share more updates when they become available.
