The club from Kenner pieced together a seven-run comeback in their first win of the regional, but they were the aggressors Friday.
Eastbank jumped out to an early three-run lead after a wild pitch with bases loaded scored the first two runs of the game in the top of the second. Moments later, Josh Rouse would plate another run with an RBI-single to center field.
In the top of the fourth, Eastbank would load the bases again and add three more runs to take a six-run advantage. Shortly after, the game would enter a one-hour weather delay.
That would mark the end of Cristiano Windham’s day on the mound. Windham delivered the go-ahead hit in their opener and pitched a gem in game two with seven strikeouts.
After the weather delay, the Eastbank offense picked up right where it left off with two more runs on wild pitches in the frame to take an 8-0 lead.
Eastbank would hold on for the 8-1 win. They advance to the semifinal round, where they will play Sunday at 3 p.m.
