The Bull Shoals City Council is set to meet Thursday evening with a full agenda that includes discussion of short-term rental regulations, utility deposit changes, and the appointment of a new police chief. There will be a special meeting at 6, immediately followed by a regular meeting at 6:30.
The meeting will open with department reports from police, fire, water, sewer, street, parks, and planning and zoning.





Council members are expected to offer updates on several ongoing city issues, including an update on the golf course, Bel-Arco property matters, an update on 211 Alford, water operator certification requirements, and costs associated with a generator for lift station 16. Council Member Hutchison will also highlight a new online water bill payment option available at bullshoals.viewmybill.net.

Public comment will be accepted on agenda items prior to the council’s consideration of multiple ordinances, including:

Ordinance 2025-09 addressing regulations on short-term rentals;

Ordinance 2025-11 modifying water and sewer deposit fees and managing outstanding debt;

Ordinance 2025-12 on property maintenance standards;

Ordinance 2025-13 appointing a police chief;

Ordinance 2025-14 combining the city recorder and treasurer positions;

Ordinance 2025-15 appointing an individual to complete the current recorder/treasurer term.

The council is also expected to vote on Resolution 2025-R-11, which would formally appoint Jonathan J. Babb as the new police chief.

The meeting is open to the public.
