Maryland State Police (MSP) said the woman was discovered on July 27 after a trooper stopped to check on a black Jeep Wrangler parked on the right shoulder of the outer loop of I-695, near Perring Parkway.
When the trooper approached the Jeep, they found the woman lying in the back seat.
State police said they made multiple attempts to contact her, but she remained unresponsive. Once authorities were able to get into the vehicle, she was pronounced dead by medics.
The woman was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine her cause of death. Her identity has not yet been confirmed, as of Wednesday.
MSP said anyone with information about this case should call 410-780-2700. All callers can remain anonymous.
