CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An accident has shut down a portion of I-85 North in west Charlotte on Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened near mile marker 29, just before the Sam Wilson Road exit. As of now, all lanes heading north are closed in that area, and drivers should expect major traffic delays.
The area is expected to reopen around 3:45 p.m. Medic confirmed with Queen City News that one person has been transported to Atrium CMC with life-threatening injuries.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area and find alternate routes if possible. The cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time.
