
According to a Wednesday, July 31, announcement on Facebook, the Madisonville Police Department confirmed that “several hundred pounds” of marijuana, along with “significant quantities” of cocaine and methamphetamine, were seized.
In addition to the drugs mentioned, MPD noted that some THC derivatives, as well as multiple guns and a significant amount of cash, were also seized.
MPD announced that the agency assisted the Drug Enforcement Administration, Kentucky State Police, and numerous city and county law enforcement agencies in multiple coordinated operations designed to target illegal drug activity.
“Through these joint efforts, we continue to work for the common good protecting our citizens and promoting a safer future for Hopkins County and the surrounding areas,” the department wrote.
