NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Dangerously hot conditions are expected again Thursday. Heat index values between 108-112 which puts our area in a heat advisory. Actual temperatures will sit in the low 90s.
The NWS reminds everyone to take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, drink plenty of water even if not thirsty, check on elderly, neighbors, and relatives, and bring pets indoors.
Showers and storms are expected again this afternoon into the early evening. Not as widespread and strong as Wednesdays storms, but some could produce heavy rainfall. Friday is looking to have a greater chance for more widespread storms.
A couple of hot days ahead with the chance for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. Not expecting a complete washout this weekend, but have the umbrella ready if you have any outdoor plans.
