Previously, according to a post on X by the MLB, “Phillies reportedly acquired OF Harrison Bader from the Twins.” Reports from ESPN’s Jeff Passan show that the Phillies finalized the trade for Bader.
“The Philadelphia Phillies are finalizing a trade to acquire outfielder Harrison Bader from the Minnesota Twins, sources tell ESPN,” Passan said on X.
Bader, who is originally from Bronxville, New York, began his career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2017. He was drafted to the team in the 3rd round of the 2015 MLB draft.
He stayed with the team until 2022, playing as a center fielder, and went on to win a Gold Glove Award in 2021.
As a lifelong Yankees fan, he was traded to the team in August 2022, where he became a breakout star, scoring 5 home runs in 9 playoff games in the 2022 postseason.
Bader played with the Yankees through the 2023 season before he went to the Cincinnati Reds.
In 2024, he signed as a free agent with the New York Mets and played 143 games.
Most recently, Bader signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Twins, where he has played as a left fielder in 91 games.
Bader has a career OPS of .809 in the postseason.
