Kathryn Vaughn says she and her family are heartbroken; her nephew, whom she calls “Little,” meant so much to everyone, and she said his loss is devastating.
“He was my nephew, and he was my baby; it’s not fair, and it’s not right. These people have guns and are killing our kids every day,” Vaughn said.
Wednesday afternoon, Vaughn and her family gathered at the crime scene to lay down flowers to honor her nephew’s memory.
Askew was found on Friday near a gas station on Laurel Bowie Road. Police are working to find his killer and a motive. No arrests have been made.
The victim’s aunt, Keisa Vaughn, told DC News Now they want justice.
“Little was so sweet and happy and energetic. He didn’t have any enemies, and we were so close. My message to the killer turn yourself in because justice must be served”.
Prince George’s County Police are offering a 25-thousand-dollar reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. Family members will have a balloon release and candlelight vigil Friday.
