According to the LaGrange Police Department, on Monday at approximately 5:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a welfare check for a child.
Officers arrived at a residence that was located at 117 Sunset Street and says that the suspect, who has been identified as Kathleen Swanton, allegedly confined her special needs child to a bedroom and left the residence with her other two children for family members to find.
Investigators say that Swanton reportedly left the home on Friday and her current whereabouts are unknown, according to LaGrange PD.
Swanton is wanted by authorities on charges of: first-degree cruelty to children under the Family Violence Act, three counts of false imprisonment, abandonment, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
