Ossoff’s team announced that President Trump signed the Veterans Affairs (VA) Home Loan Program Reform Act into law on Wednesday, a bipartisan legislation that the U.S. Senator co-sponsored and supported to help veterans who were relying on VA loans.
The bill aims to assist veterans who are behind on their mortgage payments by moving any missed payments to the back of their loan term to help avoid immediate foreclosure.

The bipartisan bill, which is now a law, follows the shutdown of the Veterans Affairs Servicing Purchase (VASP) Program, which previously served as the only program for veterans facing immediate foreclosure.
“Veterans’ benefits are earned,” Ossoff said. “This is a sacred contract between the American people and those who make tremendous sacrifices in defense of our nation. With the cost of living so high, now more than ever, the American people need to stand behind our veterans and help protect those who have served from foreclosure.”
In his continued efforts to support Georgia veterans, Ossoff also partnered with Sen. Susan Collins to introduce the Rural Veterans Transportation to Care Act which will help veterans in rural areas secure transportation to VA health facilities and health benefits they’ve earned.
