MNC Software Secures Transmitter With Studiotech Belgium

MNC Software, a global provider of network management and operational support systems tailored to the broadcast and media industry, has won a major monitoring and control contract from Studiotech, a leading Belgian systems integrator.

The ONAMA project is for the digital terrestrial transformation across the African nation of Chad. The DTT network in Chad calls for a central control facility in the capital, N’Djamena, with 30 remote transmitter sites around the country. Ten of the remote sites have remux capabilities to localize services. Thanks to the MNC control platform, all of the transmitter sites will be controlled and monitored from the central facility with minimal operator interventions, making this a part of the critical infrastructure for this project.

MNC worked with Studiotech to demonstrate the technical facilities of the Mosaic system, showing how its architecture could support the specific requirements and constraints of the customer’s network. Individual Mosaic instances at each site maintain control, monitoring and logging even if there are network instabilities with the central facility.

“Mosaic has a proven track record with similar systems across remote and difficult to access sites, which gave us a great degree of confidence,” said Nicolas Tardieu, Studiotech general manager. “The system is also intuitive to implement and operate, which means we could install and integrate on site without needing to rely on the MNC Software team, although of course that support was there should we need it. “Couple that with a flexible licensing scheme which meant we could build the functionality we required cost-effectively, and we could show a strong ROI to the end customer in Chad,” Tardieu continued. “It is clearly a strong solution for this challenging project.”

Darren Frearson, CEO of MNC Software, added: “This major ONAMA project strengthens still further MNC Software’s footprint in African broadcasting infrastructure. Mosaic’s flexibility makes it ideal for projects like these, where there are a lot of remote devices requiring complex monitoring and control, interconnectivity can be challenging, and skilled staff are in short supply.”

MNC Software will demonstrate Mosaic at IBC 2025, (RAI Amsterdam, Sept. 12-15) at Stand 3.A62.
