The business was burglarized around 4:30 a.m. Monday, Antipasto’s By De Rose owner Nick De Rose told KRON4.
“Another not so beautiful day in the neighborhood,” the deli shared on social media. “… Our perpetrators decided to visit us this time by backing their late model truck through our front doors. Be aware of your neighborhood! Keep an eye open for your belongings, your neighbors belongings and your local businesses. Some people have no respect!”
Nick De Rose’s brother Gino told KRON4 that this is the fifth time in two years that someone had burglarized the business. Each time the windows are smashed, it costs the business $5,000 to $6,000, he said.
The business, which opened nearly 40 years ago, had to close Monday. However, the owners say they’ll be open for business Tuesday morning.
“Oh, we’re back at it tomorrow for sure,” Gino De Rose said.
The San Jose Police Department is investigating the burglary. So far, no suspects have been arrested in connection to the crime.
