SALT LAKE CITY (
ABC4) — Happy Monday, Utah! Our Monday afternoon will feature mostly sunny skies and hazy skies. Smoke and haze from the ongoing wildfires to our south will continue to surge north across southern and eastern Utah over the next few days. Be aware of reduced visibility and air quality across these portions of the state as the wildfire smoke continues to move through the region. Daytime highs will climb into the mid 90s along the Wasatch Front and low 100s for SW Utah.
Tuesday will feature mostly sunny and hot conditions. Highs will warm into the mid to upper 90s for the Wasatch Front and low 100s for SW Utah. The winds will shift from southwesterly to more westerly helping to push some of the thickest wildfire smoke to our east.
A minor surge in potential monsoon moisture will try to bring a few isolated showers to the state for Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. The overall rain chance will remain pretty low, but isolated showers will be possible especially over southern and eastern Utah. Highs will remain in the mid to upper 90s for the Wasatch Front and into the low 100s for SW Utah.
The end of the week and weekend will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine with highs dipping back into the mid 90s for the Wasatch Front and around 100 for SW Utah during the afternoon hours. Rain chances will be slim to none for the area through the upcoming weekend.
