The 16-year-old juvenile was charged with the following offenses:
Officers with the Muncie Police Department were dispatched on July 15 at approximately 3:37 p.m. to the 1000 block of Macedonia Avenue on a report of a stolen vehicle.
Upon arrival to the scene, officers spoke with the victim who claimed that two males stole his firearm and his vehicle after attacking him. Police noted that the victim had a missing tooth, swelling and abrasions to his top lip, as well as a laceration on his forehead that required stitches.
While the victim was at the hospital, officers found the vehicle abandoned behind the 900 block of N Blaine Street. When authorities searched the car they found his missing tooth.
According to court documents, the man was giving the two children a ride when he told them that he would take the guns that the minors had in their possession. When they got out of the vehicle, the alleged partners-in-crime attacked the victim with the guns and stole his car.
This is an active investigation. Information will be updated as it becomes available.
