Break-in caught on camera at NoDa bakery
Officers received a call Thursday about an active vehicle fire. Upon further investigation by responding officers, they said that the vehicle was intentionally set on fire by Clayon Morrison Broyhill.
A victim was inside the vehicle at the time the fire was set but was able to exit the vehicle without serious injury.
When MPD detectives and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force attempted to serve the arrest warrants Monday, Broyhill refused to comply and exit the residence.
MPD’s Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team eventually talked Broyhill into coming out of the residence.
The 27-year-old was arrested and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Burning Personal Property, Communicating Threats, and Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence. After a search of the residence, Broyhill was also charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
He is being held without bond.
