Jackson man found shot dead in driveway, investigation underway

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating a shooting that has claimed the life of a Jackson man.

Tuesday morning at 2:11 a.m., deputies with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of shots fired in the area of the 5000 block of N. Silverton Street in Jackson.

While searching the area, deputies located an unresponsive victim seated in his vehicle in the driveway of his home.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Dequon Hill, was pronounced deceased on scene at 3:40 a.m. from gunshot wounds to the body.

He will be autopsied in Newberry later this week.

The Coroner’s Office along with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office are continuing with the investigation.
