Human and pet exposures prompt rabies warning in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control was notified by the Mecklenburg County Department of Public Health that a rabies alert notification will be sent to residents on or near Alexander Street in Charlotte.

According to the report, two bats in this area of Mecklenburg County tested positive for rabies. There were two human exposures and two domestic pet exposures.

These are the fourth and fifth positive rabies cases in Mecklenburg County in 2025.
