ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The calendar may say there are only a couple more weeks left of summer vacation for area kids, but the weather says it’s still pool and beach season.

The Rockford, Illinois area offers a variety of outdoor pools and beaches for summer fun, perfect for families and swimmers. Here are the Top 10 places to take a dip in the stateline.

Location: Rock Cut State Park, 7318 Harlem Road, Loves Park
Amenities: Lifeguards, bathhouse, concessions, kayak/canoe launch; pets not allowed on beach.
Cost: $5 for anyone over 4 feet. For those under 4 feet the entrance fee is $2.50. Children 3 and younger are free.
