Tennessee football held its annual Media Day ahead of its first practice on Wednesday. Head Coach Josh Heupel, Defensive Coordinator Tim Banks, and Offensive Coordinator Joey Halzle will all take the podium and answer questions from the media starting at 12:45 p.m.
Following the coaches’ pressers, the three quarterbacks competing for the starting job, Joey Aguilar, Jake Merklinger, and George MacIntyre, will speak along with running back DeSean Bishop and offensive lineman Lance Heard.
After the offensive group, the defense will answer questions from the media. Defensive linemen Dominic Bailey and Jaxson Moi, along with defensive backs Rickey Gibson and Andre Turrentine, will answer questions. Linebacker Jeremiah Telander will also speak with the defensive group.
Tennessee will then hit the field Wednesday morning for its first official preseason practice. The number one storyline heading in is the three-way quarterback competition with last year’s starting quarterback, Nico Iamaleava, transferring to UCLA during spring practice.
The Vols open the 2025 season against Syracuse on August 30 inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for the Aflac Kickoff Game. You can watch the game on WATE at 12 p.m. ET.
