IDAHO FALLS — One of eastern Idaho’s most popular bands, the Aaron Ball Band, will headline this year’s Idaho Foodbank Music Festival for the fourth year on Saturday, August 2, at 6 p.m. at Tautphaus Park in Idaho Falls.

In addition to the Aaron Ball Band, performers will include fan-favorite “American Idol” finalist Paige Anne, Idaho Falls country singer Andrea Alonso and local ska-punk group The Opskamatrists.

Formed in 2012, the Pocatello-based band, led by frontman Aaron Ball, currently features longtime members David Bowman on keys and Jared Smith on drums, as well as occasional guest musicians.

Back from a recent tour through Texas, the trio is ready to take the stage with a mix of crowd-favorite originals like “Omaha,” “New Strings,” and “This Road,” popular covers, and their latest single, “Jesus Saves.”

“Our new single is already breaking records for the band, racking up more than 40,000 views on YouTube in just two weeks. We’re really excited about it,” said Bowman.

Aaron Ball Band has received accolades from the Academia Music Awards, along with multiple nominations from the North West Country Music Awards and the Josie Music Awards.

But for the Aaron Ball Band, coming home to support a cause close to their hearts is what makes this show especially meaningful.

“We want to give back something to the community that raised us,” said Bowman, who has helped organize the event from the beginning.

“That’s why we chose to team up with other local musicians and donate our time to the Foodbank Music Festival, an event dedicated to raising both critical funds and awareness in the fight against hunger in our region.”

The festival has grown steadily over the years, blending music, community, and giving. Last year’s event in Pocatello raised more than $7,000 for the Idaho Foodbank, generating not only donations but long-term support and increased volunteerism.

This year’s festival in Idaho Falls is expected to draw over 1,000 attendees.

There is no set ticket price for the event. Instead, donations of any amount will be accepted, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to support the Idaho Foodbank’s efforts to combat food insecurity in southeastern Idaho.

“We hope everyone will come out, bring lawn chairs or a picnic blanket, and enjoy a great evening of entertainment,” Bowman said. “Together, we can make a difference and bring our community one step closer to a future where no one goes hungry.”
