
The left-handed pitcher made his way to Cooperstown, New York to be recognized as one of the greats.
Originally born Carsten Charles Sabathia, he graduated from Vallejo High School.
Monday morning, the Vallejo native posted on X, “Woke up in the Hall of Fame!!! Still doesn’t feel real.”
Sabathia made his MLB debut with the Cleveland Guardians in 2001, where he stayed for eight seasons. With a short stint with the Milwaukee Brewers, Sabathia finished his career with the New York Yankees in 2019.
In 2009, Sabathia earned the American League Championship Series MVP award and became a World Series champion after the Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies (4-2).
In addition to being a World Series champion, Sabathia is a six-time All-Star and an American League Cy Young Award winner.
In his career, he has completed 251 victories and 3,093 strikeouts.
Ichiro Suzuki, Billy Wagner, Dick Allen and Dave Parker were also inducted into the Hall of Fame on Sunday.
