
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford man was taken into custody Sunday after police say he rammed a police squad car while fleeing from officers.
Rockford Police SCOPE officers spotted a stolen vehicle pulling into the 11th Street McDonald’s early Sunday morning.
Police said the driver rammed a squad car as he attempted to flee a traffic stop.
Anthony Maldonado, 23, was taken into custody.
Police say a loaded handgun was found inside the vehicle.
Maldonado was charged with theft, unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, criminal damage to state supported property, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, and no valid driver’s license.
Maldonado is being held in the Winnebago County Jail.
