COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A Columbus day center that serves homeless and at-risk populations has extended its operations during the current heat advisory.

The SafeHouse will remain open until 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. It is located in the old Rose Hill Methodist Church on Hamilton Road.

The air-conditioned building will serve as a refuge during the hottest hours, said Neil Richardson, Director of SafeHouse Ministries.

It was announced last week that SafeHouse Ministries will be closing its day center at the end of the month.
