
The man was identified as Michael Steven Comstock, 62, of Sandy, Utah, officers with the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office released Monday morning.
Police say that
“For reasons currently unknown, he became separated from his UTV and appeared to be attempting to walk back to his vehicle,” Chief Deputy Sheriff Cade Palmer said in a social media post.
Police believe his death was a result of heat exposure coupled with a cardiac event.
“Our deepest condolences are extended to the friends and family of Mr. Comstock,” Chief Deputy Palmer said.
According to deputies, Comstock’s UTV has yet to be found. They are requesting that anyone with information about its whereabouts contact the sheriff’s office tip line at (435) 743-6530.
“We remind everyone visiting the remote areas of Box Elder County to be prepared for the unexpected. Carry ample supplies of water and food and always inform a trusted contact of your travel plans,” the post said.
