Love in the Forecast: KRBC’s Carter Vandrasik ties the knot with Ashton

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – We’d like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to KRBC meteorologist Carter Vandrasik and his new wife, Ashton, on their recent marriage!

You may remember their romantic proposal that went viral online — a sweet moment that captured the love they share. On Saturday, July 26, 2025, Ashton Cheatham officially became Ashton Vandrasik as the two tied the knot in front of friends and family at Carter’s home church in Pegram, Tennessee.

“My ring finger feels a little heavier… Yeah show ’em the ring, show ’em the ring… I just keep looking at him, and I’m like, Dude, we’re married. I’m like, we’re husband and wife now,” Carter and Ashton exclaimed.

Carter and Ashton’s story began during their junior year at the University of Tennessee at Martin — he was studying meteorology, and she was pursuing a degree in art.

After two years of dating and building a life together in Abilene, Carter proposed on March 26, 2025. With a greenscreen candlelight backdrop and a live violinist setting the mood, he got down on one knee and asked Ashton to marry him.

By their account, the ceremony was a smaller, intimate gathering of close friends and immediate family. The larger reception went off without a hitch — although Carter may have narrowly avoided disaster. Ashton made sure he knew not to hold back his emotions on their big day.
