As the Krewe approached vehicles at the gas pump, locals had no idea what we had up our sleeves!
“Excuse me, ma’am. Hi, how are you? Are you about to pay for gas right now?” asked Ya’Lisha Gatewood with the Cares Krewe. Our local community member replied that she was indeed about to take out her card and pay the gas attendant.
“No need, no need. Live! in the Community with the Cares Krewe, and we’re going to pay for your gas today. Stick that card back where it came from, and we are going to pay for your gas today!” exclaimed Gatewood.
She shared that she was on the way to the dentist and stopped to get some gas. She picked the right place to be! She was thrilled to receive a full tank of free gas, and everyone got down and did a happy dance!
“I don’t know what to say, thank you!” the local woman exclaimed happily.
We met another Marshall resident at her car, and the Krewe was providing full service.
“Oh my God, I am so blessed! Thank you! OMG, that’s so sweet of y’all,” said the local woman.
She shared with us that she was working hard and taking care of children this summer, so it was our pleasure to bring a little bit of joy to her day.
Stay tuned every week, they may be coming to you and your town!
Live! in the Community with the Cares Krewe looks for deserving recipients each week!
